Prayers.

The following Bill was introduced and read the first time:

By Hon. Mr. N. Betts,

Bill 45, An Act to Amend the Provincial Loans Act.

Ordered that the said Bill be read the second time at the next sitting.


Hon. Mr. Green informed the House that it was the intention of the government that the House resolve into a Committee of Supply to consider the estimates of the Department of Family and Community Services, followed by the estimates of Service New Brunswick, the Legislative Assembly and the Aboriginal Affairs Secretariat.


The following Bills were read the second time and ordered referred to the Committee of the Whole House:

Bill 43, Canadian Judgments Act.
Bill 44, An Act to Amend the Reciprocal Enforcement of Judgments Act.


The House, according to order, resolved itself into a Committee of Supply with Mr. Ashfield in the chair.

And after some time, the Chairman declared it to be 12.30 o'clock p.m., and left the chair to return again at 2 o'clock p.m.

2 o'clock p.m.

The Committee resumed with Mr. Ashfield in the chair.

And after some time, Mr. Bernard took the chair.

And after some time, Mr. Speaker resumed the chair, and Mr. Bernard, the Chairman, after requesting that Mr. Speaker revert to Presentations of Committee Reports, reported that the Committee had had under consideration the matters referred to them, had passed several items and asked leave to sit again.

Pursuant to Standing Rule 78.1, Mr. Speaker put the question on the motion deemed to be before the House, that the report be concurred in, and it was resolved in the affirmative.

The following are the items reported:

ORDINARY ACCOUNT

DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES

Resolved, That there be granted to Her Majesty a sum not exceeding $654,663,000 to defray the expenses of the Ordinary Account program allocations of the Department of Family and Community Services for the fiscal year ending the 31st of March, 2001.

LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY

Voted, Supply in the following amounts to defray the expenses of the following programs:
Members' Allowances and Committees 1,914,000
Office of the Legislative Assembly 2,341,000
Leaders of Registered Political Parties 914,000
Office of the Auditor General 1,524,000
Office of the Chief Electoral Officer 938,000
Office of the Ombudsman 592,000
Supervisor of Political Financing 798,000

GENERAL GOVERNMENT

Voted, Supply in the following amounts to defray the expenses of the following programs:

Service New Brunswick 19,315,000
Property Tax Assessment Provision 4,861,000
Land Information Services 2,760,000

LOANS AND ADVANCES

Voted, Supply in the following amount and to defray the expenses of the following program:

Housing 7,095,000

WORKING CAPITAL - MAXIMUM BALANCES
