Prayers.

Hon. Mr. Green laid upon the table of the House a document entitled Statistics Relating to the Treatment of Gambling Addiction in New Brunswick.

Mr. Richard gave Notice of Motion 76 that on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, he would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. Allaby:

That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House all documents, including but not limited to, memorandums, letters, correspondence, electronic mail, reports concerning outstanding debts, mortgages, encumbrances, charges, and/or/liens, or other, other than government loans, on the vessel, Ocean Leader 5709, Caraquet NB which may or may not have been paid during 1998 to January 31, 2001.

Mr. Richard gave Notice of Motion 77 that on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, he would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. Allaby:

That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House all documents, including but not limited to, memorandums, letters, correspondence, electronic mail, reports from any government department concerning the appraisal or evaluation of a vessel known and identified as "Ocean Leader" 5709 Caraquet NB from 1995 up to and including today's date.

Mr. Richard gave Notice of Motion 78 that on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, he would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. Allaby:

That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House all documents, including but not limited to, memorandums, letters, correspondence, electronic mails, reports from Roméo Cormier or legal counsel representing Roméo Cormier or from Canadian Ocean Products Ltd. concerning the appraisal or an offer to purchase the Ocean Leader 5709, Caraquet NB, including, without limiting the foregoing, the amount of the offer, the current appraisal of the vessel and any other correspondence received from any of the above-noted parties from 1995 to January 31, 2001.

Mr. Allaby gave Notice of Motion 79 that on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, he would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. Lee:

That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House a complete listing of all companies, partnerships and/or individuals who have expressed any interest whatsoever about the possible sale of, or the merger or partnership with NB Power including, without limiting the foregoing, copies of all documents, correspondence, letters memorandums, electronic mails, and/or proposals from any such company, partnership and/or individual.

Mr. Allaby gave Notice of Motion 80 that on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, he would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. Richard:

That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House all documents, including but not limited to, memorandums, letters, correspondence, electronic mails, in connection with or related to the establishment of the guidelines to be used in the evaluation process for any proposed sale of, or merger or partnership with NB Power including, without limiting the foregoing, any such documentation between the department of Natural Resources and Energy and NB Power.

Mr. Allaby gave Notice of Motion 81 that on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, he would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. Lee:

That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House a copy of the proposal from Emera Corporation concerning the sale of, or the merger or partnership with NB Power, including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, copies of all documents, memorandums, letters, correspondence, electronic mails, and/or reports concerning such proposal.

Ms. Weir gave Notice of Motion 82 that on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, she would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. S. Graham:

That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House by the Minister of Justice copies of the 1992 and 1996 gambling prevalence studies referred to in his Statement to the Legislature yesterday.

Hon. Mr. Green announced that following second reading, it was the intention of the government that the House resolve itself into a Committee of Supply to consider the estimates of the Department of Family and Community Services, followed by those of the Department of Finance.

The following Bill was read a second time and ordered referred to the Committee of the Whole House:

Bill 42, An Act to Amend the Legislative Assembly Act.

The House, according to Order, resolved itself into a Committee of Supply with Mr. Ashfield in the chair.

And after some time, the Chairman declared it to be 12.30 o'clock p.m., and left the chair, to resume again at 2 o'clock p.m.

2 o'clock p.m.

The Committee resumed.

And after some time, Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair and Mr. Ashfield, the Chairman, after requesting that Mr. Speaker revert to Presentations of Committee Reports, reported that the Committee had had under consideration the matters referred to them, had made some progress therein and asked leave to sit again.

Pursuant to Standing Rule 78.1, Mr. Speaker then put the question on the motion deemed to be before the House, that the report be concurred in, and it was resolved in the affirmative.

And then, 6 o'clock p.m., the House adjourned.
