Hon. Mrs. Jardine laid upon the table of the House a document entitled A Report on Air Quality Monitoring Results in New Brunswick for the Year 1999.
The following Bill was introduced and read a first time:

Bill 65, An Act to Amend the Judicature Act.
Ordered that the said Bill be read a second time at the next sitting.
Ms. Weir gave Notice of Motion 113 that on Tuesday, May 22, 2001, she would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. S. Graham:
That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House by the Minister of Health and Wellness, a copy of any RFP issued in 2000-2001 to conduct a study on gambling, and any related correspondence.
Ms. Weir gave Notice of Motion 114 that on Tuesday, May 22, 2001, she would move the following resolution, seconded by Mr. S. Graham:
That an address be presented to Her Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, praying that she cause to be laid upon the table of the House all correspondence with the New Brunswick Coin Machine Owners Association Inc. held by the Department of Finance, the Office of the Premier, the Department of Health and Wellness, the Department of Public Safety, Business New Brunswick, Investment and Exports and the Department of Justice from July 1, 1999, to date.
Hon. Mr. Green announced that it was the intention of the government that the House would resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole to consider Bill 44, Fiscal Stabilization Fund Act, following which the House would resolve into a Committee of Supply to consider the estimates of the Department of Public Safety.
The House resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole with Mr. Ashfield in the chair.
At 12.30 o'clock p.m., the Chairman left the chair to resumed again at 2 o'clock p.m.
2 o'clock p.m.
The Committee resumed with Mr. Bernard in the chair.
And after some time, Mr. Carr took the chair as Acting Chairman.
And after some further time, Mr. Ashfield took the chair.
During consideration of Bill 44, Fiscal Stabilization Fund Act, Mrs. Mersereau moved the following amendment to section 9:
Amend said Bill as follows:
(a) Strike out subsection 9(1) and substitute the following:
9(1) No transfer shall be made out of the Fund without the authority of the Legislature.
And the question being put, a debate ensued.
And the debate being ended and the question being put, the amendment was negatived on the following recorded division:

That the Committee had directed him to report progress on the following Bill:
Bill 44, Fiscal Stabilization Fund Act.
And the Committee asked leave to make a further report.
Pursuant to Standing Rule 78.1, Mr. Speaker then put the question on the motion deemed to be before the House, that the report be concurred in, and it was resolved in the affirmative.
And then 6 o'clock p.m., the House adjourned.
