When the Legislative Assembly is in session, the Library remains open until the House rises.

- Professional research assistance, including commercial database searching (e.g. Ebsco, Infomart)
- New Brunswickana collection: The largest New Brunswickana collection, including material written about New Brunswick and by New Brunswickers
- New Brunswick Documents Checklist: The most complete collection of New Brunswick government publications including annual listings
- General reference books, indexes and directories
- Periodicals: A collection of books and journals concerning current public issues and the activities of governments
- Bills, statutes, hansards, and reports: An extensive collection of Canadian federal and provincial government bills, statutes, hansards, and reports in both official languages
- An index to Private Acts of New Brunswick
- Quarterly lists of new books acquired by the Library
- Biographical database of New Brunswick M.L.A.s since the establishment of the province
- Monthly periodical contents publication
- New Brunswick daily and weekly newspapers: A complete collection of New Brunswick daily and weekly newspapers and selected national titles
- Press clipping database (1986 - present), classified by subject
- A pamphlet file with emphasis on New Brunswick, including items concerning government activities, public issues, and notable individuals
- Interlibrary loans
- Preparation of subject bibliographies and displays
