Evaluation of Muster 75DF (Ethametsulfuron Methyl for Use in Hybrid Seed Canola Grown in New Brunswick

K.V McCully1, M.J. Melanson1 and J. Dennis1

Abstract: Two trials to evaluate Muster 75DF (ethametsulfuron methyl) use in hybrid seed canola was conducted in the Florenceville area of New Brunswick. Muster was applied at rates from 15 to 60 g/ha. Visual ratings on crop tolerance were evaluated in both trials and hempnettle control was evaluated in one of the trials. Results indicated that Canola was very tolerant to Muster regardless of the rate applied. Hempnettle was controlled at all the Muster rates evaluated, indicating those rates above 15 g/ha were not necessary. Additional trials with Muster should be conducted to confirm consistent crop tolerance and hempnettle control.
