Abstract: Ten insecticide treatments were evaluated for control of flower thrips (Frankliniella tritici) on strawberry at the New Brunswick Horticulture Center in 1996 and 1997. Cymbush reduced bronzing severity by 51 percent in 1996 and 29 percent in 1997. Other treatments including malathion, endosulfan, insecticidal soap and ULT Fine spray oil were ineffective in significantly reducing bronzing caused by flower thrips. It is proposed that in part, the failure of some of these products to control thrips is related to the difficulty in obtaining good spray coverage.
