Abstract: Potato plant stands leveled out at 81.4% in 1996 after a low in 1993 of 69.4%, and a high in 1995 of 84.7%. Thirty-three farms were surveyed in 1996 covering 18 varieties and a total sample number of 207. Snowden had the most consistent increase over the five year period beginning with a 68.8% average in 1992 and concluding with an 87.3 % in 1996.
