Monitoring of Insect Populations in Potato Fields in 2000

Guy Bernard 1

Abstract: Aphid populations were low during the 2000 season. Green peach aphid populations remained low throughout the season. The Potato aphid was the dominant species and numbers increased slightly towards the end of August. Buckthorn aphid populations were low. Flea Beetles populations had been on the rise for some years but declined sharply this year due to a cool wet spring. Colorado potato beetle populations were delayed as well and numbers remained low throughout the season.
