LITTLE SHEMOGUE (CNB) - Murray Beach Provincial Park will hold a celebration on Saturday, July 3, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of New Brunswick's provincial park system.
The celebration will begin at 12:15 p.m. and continue throughout the day with events such as a barbeque, face-painting, a treasure hunt and fireworks.
"We are pleased to celebrate 75 years of provincial parks in New Brunswick," said Tourism and Parks Minister Brian Kenny. "The staff at Murray Beach has done a wonderful job in planning these activities, and I encourage everyone to stop by and join in the festivities."
The Department of Tourism and Parks is celebrating the 75th anniversary all summer. A different park will host festivities each weekend through July and August.
In addition, the provincial government has obtained the exclusive Canadian distribution rights to Robert Bateman's latest painting, Family Hike. Proceeds from the sale of these prints will be used to create education and awareness programs for the parks. Copies of the prints are available through the Department of Tourism and Parks as well as the Conservation Council of New Brunswick.
