Message from the Deputy Minister

Making your lives as New Brunswickers better at home, school, work, and play.

As Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury Board, I am pleased to introduce the refreshed strategy for the Government of New Brunswick’s digital transformation: Digital New Brunswick 2.0. The world has changed a lot since the original Digital NB Strategy was launched in early 2018. The environment it has to guide us through is radically different - technology has changed, people’s expectations have changed, and the pandemic has accelerated everything.

Through a survey of more than 2600 New Brunswickers, we have heard clearly what residents want now: government websites that are more user-friendly and easier to navigate, more programs and services fully available online, and easy access to human help when you need it.

We heard the same thing from GNB employees and external partners. Our people are united and passionate in their desire to serve you better, in ways that are simple, reliable, and centred on you.

Like the original 2018 strategy, Digital NB 2.0 places New Brunswick residents at the centre of everything the provincial government does, while using digital technology to deliver our programs and services to you more effectively.

Thank you to all of those inside and outside government who helped develop Digital NB 2.0. Making it a reality is already underway. We are building resilience to seize new opportunities and meet emerging challenges, predictable and unpredictable. We look forward to making your lives as New Brunswickers better at home, school, work, and play.

Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury Board
