Emerging Markets

Forestry 

The New Brunswick forest industry is comprised of many different mills that produce a wide range of products. The industry contributes about $1.5 billion annually to the province’s gross domestic product and is responsible for about 9,700 direct jobs and an additional 14,100 spinoff jobs. 

In addition to domestic supply, about eighty percent of New Brunswick forest products are exported to the United States while other export markets include India, China, South and Central America, and the European Union. 

Fishing 

The commercial fisheries sector is a vital component of the social and economic fabric of the province, particularly in many rural coastal communities. The sector is backed by a world-class research network and modern processing facilities which make New Brunswick one of the largest exporters of fish and seafood products in the country. 

Mining 

New Brunswick is the largest exporter of mineral products in the Maritimes. The mineral sector contributes to job creation and economic prosperity within various communities in the province. 

Construction 

Construction in New Brunswick is an important sector encouraging infrastructure development and urban growth. The province has ongoing projects for roads, bridges, residential and commercial buildings and industrial spaces. 

Manufacturing

Food Services
