"What does accessibility mean to you?" Student contest

Congratulations to the winners of the AccessAbility Week 2026 “What Does Accessibility Mean to You?” contest. Their submissions are available to view.

School resources

Educational materials are available to help schools bring the topic of accessibility into the classroom. These resource guides are designed to assist educators in teaching students about the importance of accessibility and how to contribute to making New Brunswick more accessible for everyone.

Features of the guides include:

  • Structured lesson plans: Build comprehensive student understanding of accessibility.
  • Standalone lessons: Focus on specific accessibility-related topics.

Note to schools: Educators are encouraged to share pictures, examples, or stories of accessibility activities from their classrooms. Feedback and community contributions are welcomed, as they support creating stronger, more inclusive communities.

Public libraries

New Brunswick Public Libraries celebrated AccessAbility Week with a variety of activities including:

  • Create-Ability Mornings
  • Sensory Monday
  • Read Your Way Promotion
