Overview
- Data purpose: To provide awareness of climate change adaptation plans of local governments.
- Data description: Climate change adaptation planning enhances a community’s resilience to climate change impacts by reducing vulnerabilities and risks. For local governments creating and implementing an adaptation plan will increase their adaptation resiliency and enhance their adaptive capacity.
- The database of local governments climate change plans provides information on status of development of climate change adaptation plans. Currently 62% of local governments in New Brunswick have completed a climate change adaptation plan, of which:
- 44% have plans that cover a portion of their territorial entity
- 18% have plans that cover their entire local government entity
- The database provides information on:
- LGs with no plan
- LGs with a plan covering partial territory
- LGs with a plan covering their whole territory
- Also, the database provides access to publicly available local governments climate change adaptation plans which includes risks and vulnerability assessments and adaptation implementation actions.
- The database of local governments climate change plans provides information on status of development of climate change adaptation plans. Currently 62% of local governments in New Brunswick have completed a climate change adaptation plan, of which:
- Update requirements: Yearly
- Restriction on use: Unrestricted
- License: Open Government Licence
- Georeferencing: datum — NAD83(CSRS), map projection — NB Stereographic Double, (EPSG 2953)
