Screening saves lives

Lower your risk of developing cancer or catch it early through New Brunswick cancer screening programs.

If you have any questions about cancer screening, call 1-844-777-3443.

Getting screened is important to lowering your risk of cancer.  It can prevent cancer or catch it in its earliest stages, allowing more treatment options and a better chance of recovery.

Screening is the early detection of cancer or pre-cancerous conditions in people who do not have symptoms of cancer. In Canada, evidence supports population-based cancer screening programs for three types of cancers: breastcervical and colon.

Around half of cancer cases and deaths can be prevented by making healthier life choices and participating in screening programs. Healthier life choices can include cutting back on red meat, processed foods and alcohol, quitting smoking and becoming more physically active.
