Draft regulations are available for public review and input. This is part of government efforts to increase transparency.

Environmental Impact Assessment 

EIA is a process through which the environmental impacts potentially resulting from a proposed project are identified and assessed early in the planning process. 

Duty to Consult with First Nations

The Duty to Consult process was established by Canadian courts upon interpretation of the recognition of Aboriginal rights in the Canadian Constitution.
