Office of the Premier
June 30, 2025
FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement was issued by Premier Susan Holt to mark Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1:
As we gather with friends, family and neighbours to celebrate Canada Day, I invite all New Brunswickers to take a moment to reflect on the shared values that unite us across this vast and beautiful country: kindness, resilience, inclusion and hope for a brighter future.
I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to represent our incredible country and to demonstrate what it means to be Canadian on the world stage.
While our pride is usually quiet, secure in the knowledge that we live in one of the best places in the world, recent events have brought us together and amplified it like never before.
They have united us in spirit and in action. We are knocking down interprovincial trade barriers, making progress on nation-building projects, buying Canadian, planning vacations here at home, and loudly declaring that we will remain the true north, strong and free.
I am inspired by you, my fellow New Brunswickers and my fellow Canadians, as we rise to this challenge. We have shown the world that we will not be bullied, that quiet patriotism has strong roots, and that, together, we can do incredible things.
On this day of celebration, let’s also commit to the work we all have ahead of us – building a Canada that is more equitable, sustainable and inclusive for everyone who calls it home.
Happy Canada Day, New Brunswick!
