FREDERICTON (GNB) – The first public information session for the review of NB Power will take place at noon on Wednesday, June 25.
The session with review leads Michael Bernstein, Anne Bertrand and Duncan Hawthorne will be hosted via Zoom and can accommodate up to 5,000 participants. Participation will be first-come, first-served.
“NB Power is central to this province, and this complex utility has been a part of our lives for four generations and yet, not many truly know how it functions,” said Bertrand. “This comprehensive review is a great opportunity to truly learn a great deal more about NB Power and, specifically, how well it is positioning itself for the future.”
The review leads will introduce themselves, discuss their overall intentions and provide a progress update. They will also share answers to previously submitted questions.
People who want to participate in the session may do so online. While participants will not have access to audio comments or video during the sessions, people are welcome to ask questions via the chat feature. Simultaneous translation will be provided.
The session will be recorded and made available later on the review website for anyone unable to participate at the scheduled time.
Bertrand said this review will allow New Brunswickers to have a say about their public utility, as they should, for the very fact that NB Power belongs to all of them.
Details about future sessions and their formats will be shared in the weeks ahead. Engagement will continue through this fall while the review team carries out research and analysis.
New Brunswickers who wish to reach out with questions or concerns related to the review may email [email protected].
An interim report summarizing the public and stakeholder engagement will be released by the end of 2025. Final recommendations and any decisions are expected by the end of March 2026.
