Tentative agreement reached with CUPE Local 1251

The provincial government has reached a tentative agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1251.

FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government has reached a tentative agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1251.

“I thank the negotiating teams for their hard work and diligence in reaching this tentative agreement,” said Finance and Treasury Board Minister René Legacy. “These employees serve critical roles in public safety, and I look forward to the agreement ratification in the coming weeks.”

CUPE Local 1251 represents about 750 correctional officers, correctional cooks, laundry and custodial workers, human services counsellors, and others.

Details of the agreement will remain confidential until it is ratified.
