Tentative agreement reached with CUPE Local 1840

The provincial government has reached a tentative collective agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1840, which represents more than 70 court stenographers.

FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government has reached a tentative collective agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1840, which represents more than 70 court stenographers.

“After almost three years without a contract, we are pleased that our government was able to reach a tentative agreement with our province’s court stenographers,” said Finance and Treasury Board Minister René Legacy. “These employees serve an important role in our justice system, and we look forward to ratification in the coming weeks.”

Details of the agreement will remain confidential until it is ratified.
