Athletics claims two medals to kick off second week of competition at Canada Games

ST. JOHN’S (GNB) – Team New Brunswick claimed two medals on the track Tuesday at the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Riverview’s Dante Cormier captured silver in the men’s 1,500 metre wheelchair and Rémi Ouellette, of Haute-Aboujagane, won bronze in the men’s para shot put.

Tuesday’s two medal performance lifts Team New Brunswick’s total to five: two silver and three bronze medals. Last week, the team captured two cycling medals and a swimming medal.

Athletics, artistic swimming, men’s box lacrosse, golf, men’s and women’s volleyball and women’s baseball, which made its Canada Games debut, resume competition Wednesday. Mountain bike, women’s soccer, men’s softball, and wrestling start their respective competitions Wednesday.
