ST. JOHN’S (GNB) – New Brunswick swimmer Zachary Newman earned a bronze medal on the second day of competition at the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s.

Newman, of Bathurst, won New Brunswick’s first medal of the Games on Monday in the men’s 50-metre butterfly event at the Aquarena. Newman and the swim team return to the pool today.

Both men’s and women’s basketball and rugby sevens teams are in action today. There is also competition in men’s baseball, women’s softball, tennis, sailing, canoe kayak and men’s soccer.
