FREDERICTON (GNB) – Premier Susan Holt will lead a delegation of ministers on a two-day mission to Ottawa to discuss New Brunswickers’ priorities, strengthen federal-provincial collaboration and advance New Brunswick-based projects of national interest.
Joining Holt for the mission are Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Jean-Claude D'Amours, who is also minister of post-secondary education and training; Finance and Treasury Board Minister René Legacy, who is also minister of energy; Health Minister John Dornan; Natural Resources Minister John Herron; and Luke Randall, minister responsible for Opportunities NB and minister responsible for economic development and small business.
“We are bringing New Brunswick to Ottawa to advocate for important projects that will move our economy forward,” said Holt. “As one of Canada’s most trade-exposed provinces, our priorities deserve full attention, and we need a seat at the table as nation-building projects are discussed.”
The visit next Tuesday and Wednesday will include meetings with federal counterparts on trade, infrastructure, energy and electricity grid integration, immigration, housing, internal trade, health care, defence and critical minerals development.
“Supporting New Brunswick’s economy and communities requires collaboration with the rest of Canada, and we look forward to working together with our colleagues in Ottawa to enable trade with new and emerging markets within Canada and around the globe,” said Holt.
Holt and the delegation will also attend a reception Tuesday night with business leaders, members of Parliament and senators with ties to Atlantic Canada to enable further discussions of key priorities.
