FREDERICTON (GNB) – Provincial assessment results in both the anglophone and francophone education sectors for the 2024-25 year have been compiled and are available online.
“Provincial assessments are conducted annually across both education sectors to help us better understand how the education system is working,” said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Claire Johnson. “Sharing our results ensures transparency and shines a light on what we are doing well and what we need to do better.”
Key findings of the assessment results include:
Anglophone sector
Francophone sector
Provincial assessments are conducted annually in literacy, numeracy and science. Department staff will investigate declining results to identify potential contributing factors and make improvements.
“Sustained efforts of all education partners continue to be essential for student success, and evidence of the resilience of our school leaders, teachers and students is apparent in the provincial assessment results again this year,” said Johnson. “While there are areas where we need to improve, teachers, education professionals, students and families in New Brunswick can be proud of what they have achieved.”
The francophone sector conducts assessments in grades 2-4, 6-8 and 10. In the anglophone sector, students are assessed in grades 4-10 and there is also a French oral proficiency assessment in Grade 12.
