FREDERICTON (GNB) – The legislative assembly has passed a motion recommending the appointment of Marc Roy as the consumer advocate for insurance.
The Office of the Consumer Advocate for Insurance, established in 2005, responds to requests for information about insurance and investigates complaints from consumers. The office is also responsible for developing and conducting educational programs on insurance.
Roy studied law at the Université de Moncton and was admitted to the Law Society of New Brunswick in 1994. He has worked as a lawyer since that time and has served on various provincial agencies, boards and commissions.
The advocate is appointed for a term of seven years, effective Dec. 11.
