FREDERICTON (GNB) – Lt.-Gov. Louise Imbeault invites all New Brunswickers to join her in welcoming the new year at the annual New Year’s Day Levee at Government House in Fredericton.

“I look forward to welcoming people of all walks of life to Government House on Jan. 1, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., to reflect on 2025 while exchanging best wishes for the new year,” said Imbeault. “Government House is beautifully decorated for the holiday season, and I hope to share this treasured part of our heritage with all New Brunswickers.”

A Kings Landing exhibition titled Lighting the Way: From Flames to Filament is featured in the Government House gallery, and The Kilties are Coming, an exhibition detailing the history of New Brunswick’s 236th Battalion (MacLean Kilties), remains on display in the basement. A peace and friendship treaty tree illuminates the library, while a winter village is on display on the second floor.

There will be live music and light refreshments. Donations of mittens, gloves, hats, scarves and socks will be accepted for the Government House Mitten Hedge. Parking is available behind the Victoria Health Centre.
