FREDERICTON (GNB) – Young New Brunswick artists are invited to apply for a place on Team Canada-New Brunswick for the 10th international Jeux de la Francophonie.

The Games will take place in Yerevan, Armenia, from July 23 to Aug. 1, 2027.

“This is an exceptional opportunity for young artists in our province to showcase their creativity internationally,” said Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Isabelle Thériault. “I know they will make our province proud and demonstrate our reputation for excellence in arts and culture.”

The Games are held every four years. They bring together thousands of young people who excel in athletic and cultural activities from participating countries and governments of the Francophonie.

“The Games are a cultural celebration; a time of exchange between young people of many nations, and an opportunity to showcase the talents of rising stars in a variety of disciplines,” said Theriault.

The last Games were held in 2023 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Two artists from New Brunswick participated in the cultural competitions.

Artists can apply to participate in one of four disciplines: painting, photography, song or literature (short story). Selected artists will be part of Team Canada-New Brunswick. The competition is open to artists aged 18 to 35, from all cultural backgrounds, regardless of their language preference.

The Canadian delegation to the Jeux de la Francophonie is made up of three teams: Canada, Canada-Quebec and Canada-New Brunswick.

The deadline for submissions is April 30.
