HAUT-MADAWASKA (GNB) – The government is investing $1.4 million to support renovations to the J. Docithe Nadeau Sports Centre in Haut-Madawaska.
“Community arenas and sports centres are at the heart of rural communities like Haut-Madawaska,” said Environment and Climate Change Minister Gilles LePage, who is also minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation. “By investing in this project, we are ensuring that residents have a modern and accessible facility that can continue to serve athletes, families and visitors.”
The project will involve replacing and modernizing the refrigeration system, as well as significant upgrades throughout the facility to meet accessibility and building standards.
“This investment by the government of New Brunswick in the J. Docithe Nadeau arena in the Saint-François ward is great news for our entire community,” said Haut-Madawaska Mayor Jean-Pierre Ouellet. “These upgrades will help preserve an important gathering place for our youth, families and seniors, while improving accessibility and the overall efficiency of the facility. We sincerely thank the province for this tangible support, which directly contributes to the vitality and quality of life in our community.”
