FREDERICTON (GNB) – Foundever Assistance Services Corp., a company with more than 28 years of experience providing health services to New Brunswickers, has been chosen as the virtual care provider in the province.

“This new contract will benefit New Brunswickers through an improved virtual care experience for patients that includes the ability to book phone appointments, provide case management and follow-up care for high needs patients, and schedule appointments instead of having a virtual waiting room,” said Health Minister John Dornan. “The selected provider has strong roots in the province and a proven track record of providing New Brunswickers with Tele-Care 811 service. We are confident they will continue to do so as the provider of virtual care.”

Following the request for proposals (RFP) processes, the selected provider was chosen after demonstrating their ability to meet all the criteria, including service delivery and cost.

RFP criteria included:

  • A bilingual service available seven days a week.
  • Nurse practitioners licensed in New Brunswick.
  • Ability to integrate existing provincial systems like electronic medical and health records as well as community health systems, NB Health Link, Tele-Care 811, and lab and specialist referral systems.
  • Ensuring all patient information is securely stored in Canada.

The contract is for two years with the option to renew annually for two years. The annual budget of $12.9 million is based on 250,000 services per year and is only paid as services are delivered.

The transition to the new vendor will begin in June.
