FREDERICTON (GNB) – New Brunswickers are invited to participate in a series of in-person public consultations as part of the review of the Pay Equity Act, 2009.

The first session will take place in Fredericton on Sept. 10, with sessions to follow in Campbellton, Grand Falls, Moncton, Woodstock and Saint John.

The review is an opportunity to hear from employers, employees, unions, business organizations, human resources professionals, advocacy groups, community organizations and other New Brunswickers about the current legislation and how pay equity can be strengthened across the province.

Pay equity aims to ensure that jobs traditionally held by women have the same compensation rates as comparable jobs traditionally held by men. The review will explore perspectives and challenges related to the current act, as well as potential benefits and concerns associated with strengthening pay equity measures.
