What we do
The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization (NBEMO) helps manage emergencies by developing programs at all government levels, focusing on prevention, preparedness, response and recovery. We coordinate provincial emergency operations and support communities, municipalities and regional service commissions with resources and information to ensure effective local response to major emergencies. We also oversee disaster financial assistance programs to support those affected.
The organization is a branch of the Department of Justice and Public Safety. It has 12 regional emergency management coordinators that assist municipal governments and regional commissions in making and executing emergency plans. During an emergency they help coordinate at the local level.
