Establishment of a Louisiana — New Brunswick cultural initiative

This report provides an overview of the tasks to be performed under the Memorandum of Understanding between the State of Louisiana and the Province of New Brunswick adopted to enhance the mutual benefits of cultural relations through the establishment of a cultural initiative between the two jurisdictions.

Overview

An initial presentation on the Louisiana–New Brunswick cultural initiative was made in August 2019 during the sixth Congrès mondial acadien, held in Moncton. Since the Government of New Brunswick was seeking to sign a new five-year action plan with the State of Louisiana, it was agreed to draw inspiration from the cultural initiative with the State of Maine signed in 2010 in targeting the cultural objectives in the action plan.
