Canadian register of historic places

Writing statements of significance

Overview

The Historic Places Initiative (HPI) is a federal, provincial and territorial collaboration designed to conserve historic places in Canada and to foster a culture of conservation across the country. Two main tools have been introduced to achieve these goals: the Canadian Register of Historic Places and the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada.
