Commercial trip permits

A commercial trip permit allows a commercial vehicle registered in another jurisdiction to operate on the province’s highways for five consecutive days.

Overview

Note that a trip permit is not required if the vehicle is registered through the International Registration Plan (IRP).

The fee for a commercial vehicle is $24 without a load and $85 with a load. The fee for a truck or truck tractor with a trailer, semi-trailer or trailer and semi-trailer attached in a semi-permanent way for the purpose of transporting goods is $24 without a load and $169 with a load.
