  • Driver licences

    A driver’s licence is required to operate a motor vehicle.

  • Driver records

    All collision reports and records of convictions are maintained by the Registrar.

  • Driver’s licences for new residents

    An individual licensed in another jurisdiction and taking up residence in New Brunswick must obtain a New Brunswick driver's licence as soon as they take up residence.

  • Licence requirements for drivers of vehicle-for-hire services

    Drivers employed by a vehicle-for-hire company and driving vehicles for the purposes of vehicle-for-hire services must have a class 4 restricted driver’s licence.

  • Motor Carrier Licence

    The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board regulates public motor bus operators that transport passengers for hire in and out of the Province of New Brunswick.

  • Photo identification card

    Photo identification cards are available to residents of New Brunswick to use as identification when they do not hold a valid driver's licence.
