Salmon River Bridge

The project seeks to replace the bridge and open by fall 2026, enhancing safety, addressing flood issues, increasing load capacity, with a design lifespan of 75 years.

Overview

The current Salmon River Bridge, built in 1961, is located on Route 10 in Chipman. This transportation link serves as a vital corridor for both residents and visitors to the Chipman area, as well as for local industry.

The new Salmon River Bridge will provide several benefits, including:

  • improved safety for motorists
  • better lighting on the bridge
  • prevention of flood damage
  • enhanced capacity to meet industry load requirements

Installation of temporary modular bridge. Single lane structure installed adjacent to existing bridge as an on-site detour was opened in Fall 2024. Completed
