Financial assistance and incentives for apprentices

  • Canada apprentice loan

    The Canada apprentice loan is available from the federal government to help apprentices registered in a Red Seal trade cover the cost of their training with up to $4,000 in loans.

  • Employment Insurance

    Apprentices are paid a wage for their experience on the job and, if eligible, may receive Employment Insurance benefits when they attend apprenticeship technical training.

  • Tradesperson's tool deduction

    Provides employed trades professionals with an annual deduction of up to $500 to help cover the cost of new tools necessary to their occupation.
