Kindergarten registration

Children are eligible for kindergarten if they turn five years old by December 31 of the year they begin school. (For example, if your child begins school in September 2026, they will need to be five years old by December 31 of 2026). Registration typically begins in October of the year before school starts to allow time for planning. This helps schools organize parent sessions, ensure class sizes, allocate teachers and arrange busing.

Pre-registration can be done online through the Parent Portal   or on the districts website.

You will need to provide:

• child’s original birth certificate (with certified translation if needed)
• proof of address (e.g. utility bill, lease, or purchase agreement)
• immunization records
• Medicare or medical insurance information
• any education or medical reports
• legal documents (e.g. guardianship, custody) if applicable
