New Brunswick’s action on climate change

The province’s plan, targets and progress to cut emissions and build resilient communities.

Overview

New Brunswick is taking strong action on climate change and is leading the country in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The province is on track to meet its legislated provincial target of 10.7 Mt by 2030 and most municipalities have completed adaptation and mitigation plans for their communities.

Many New Brunswickers have benefited from the province’s climate change efforts including rebates on electric vehicle purchases and home energy upgrades, a better understanding of climate change and more protected natural areas that will benefit us for years to come.
