Overview
A permit is required by all individuals harvesting, removing, transporting or are in possession of Crown land greenery/tips. Balsam fir tips are essential to the production of wreathes and other Christmas decorations.
Crown tips must be processed into wreathes, garland or other products in New Brunswick and cannot be exported in their raw form without ministerial approval.
Members of the public may purchase a permit at a district office, or by using the online portal. Please have your Outdoors Card Number, a valid email address and a credit/debit card.
The permit may be issued to an individual or a family unit.
Fees
Permit for any softwood species except ground hemlock (Taxus Canadensis): $20
