Overview
The Damage Claims and Court Services Unit handles claims against the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure related to motor vehicle accidents, highway defects, environmental contamination and real property damage.
Anyone can submit a claim for property damage that they believe was caused by the department. To be investigated, claims must include all required information and supporting documentation.
Once a complete claim is received, an investigation will begin. The department will review the claim and propose a resolution.
Claims should be submitted as soon as possible after the incident to allow for a detailed investigation and to avoid missing a claim or action submission deadline. Only claims with all the requested documentation and information will be investigated.
