Overview
Much of the information and feedback we have received will help to increase awareness and make improvements in the next municipal plan.
The priorities identified are:
- barrier free access
- accessible and affordable “around town” transportation options
- increase awareness of resources, programs and events
- further development and leadership at senior’s activity center
- progressive housing model assessment (need and timeline)
The appointed Age Friendly Committee has taken the following steps to collect and review feedback and information used to determine these priority areas:
- Environmental scan of services and resources available
- Attended workshops and networking events with an Age-Friendly focus
- Offered presentations and one on one calls/meetings for community groups and individuals
- Circulated and collected 162 survey responses
- Held and facilitated two focus groups
- Identified priorities
- Created action plan
