Hampton

Hampton Town Council passed a resolution to establish an age-friendly community approach on October 8, 2019.

Overview

In January 2020, an Age-friendly Community Steering Committee was formed, consisting of 10 members representing a range of interests, ages and organizations.

The committee was guided by its terms of reference adopted in February, 2020. A community assessment involving an analysis of current infrastructure, population, program and service profiles was completed by the committee identifying possible issues and opportunities. Appraisal tools in this evaluation included: community consultation through a community survey, collaborative committee work and multiple community focus groups. All information collected lead to the creation of the document, Hampton Age-Friendly Community Recommendations which details an action plan, timeline, partners/resources and expected outcomes related to the 18 recommendations developed from the data.
