Foods and diets that are shown to reduce the risk of dementia
- leafy greens
- strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries
- dark chocolate
- fish
- nuts and seeds
- mediterranean diet (focuses on fish, fruits, vegetables and nuts)
The antioxidants in fruits and vegetables may reduce symptoms of dementia, while omega-3 fatty acids in fish support brain health. Vitamins and minerals found in nuts, seeds and dark leafy greens are linked to brain health.
