There are many government and non-profit groups which offer mental health support across the province. Whether by phone, in person or online—find the support that works for your life, at your pace. 

For adults

211 — 211 is the information and referral service that connects New Brunswickers to critical social, community and government support. It helps them navigate the complex network of government and community programs and services quickly to find what they need for their unique situation. It is always answered by a person and is free and confidential. 

Call 211 for:

  • walk-in clinics
  • Alzheimer’s support
  • mental health help
  • Meals on Wheels
  • emergency shelters for the homeless
  • services for victims of domestic violence 
  • provincial and local helpline phone numbers

Bridge the gapp - Adults — Bridge the gapp helps New Brunswickers connect with guidance and support for mental health and addictions.

BounceBack —BounceBack is a free skill-building program managed by the Canadian Mental Health Association. It is designed to help young people 15 and over, adults and seniors manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Delivered over the phone with a coach or through online videos, you will get access to tools to support you on your path to mental wellness.

Power Over Pain provides free resources, courses and peer support, to support adults in understanding and coping with chronic pain.

PSPNET (Public Safety Personnel) provides resources for family members of first responders such as information, strategies and a wellbeing course. These resources are free and do not require a referral.

The Psychological Health and Safety Professional Certificate is designed for individuals who are working to improve psychological health and safety in their workplace. 

Strongest Families offers telephone and web-based coaching programs for parents and youth from three to 17 who are experiencing mild to moderate behavioural or mental health problems. Programs are offered in three steps to match the level of support that you or your child may need, from self-guided online resources to telephone/web-based weekly coaching sessions. Access is free through self-referral on their website or a referral through your Child and Youth Team. 

CMHA New Brunswick — The Canadian Mental Health Association is a grassroots organization that provides services to all communities in the province such as presentations, programs, support groups, workshops and advocacy for people living with mental illness or those in search of mental wellness.

For youth

Bridge the gapp - Youth — Bridge the gapp Youth is an online resource designed to support mental wellness in New Brunswick young people.

BounceBack is a free skill-building program managed by the Canadian Mental Health Association. It is designed to help youth, 15 to 18, manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Delivered over the phone with a coach or through online videos, you will get access to tools to support you on your path to mental wellness. To participate, you can self-refer or ask your primary care provider to submit a referral on your behalf. 

Portage Atlantic - New Brunswick Addiction services — Portage Atlantic is a non-profit organization that operates a residential drug addiction rehabilitation centre for New Brunswick youth aged 14 to 21.

1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868 — Kids Help Phone is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to Canadians aged five to 29 who want confidential and anonymous care from trained responders. They also provide online peer support forums to anonymously chat with other teens.
