Overview
The New Brunswick Youth Engagement Services is a youth led and adult-supported initiative that attempts to meaningfully engage youth in community-based activities that contribute to the prevention of problem substance use, bullying and criminal activity and foster resiliency and positive mental health.
This initiative promotes the relationships between youth and adults through connections, drawing on strengths from relationships built and providing youth leadership opportunities in the community.
Programs
A collaboration between Partners for Youth (PFY) and La Fédération des jeunes francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick and supported by the provincial government, the New Brunswick Youth Advisory Council provides input on public mental health policy issues. In the past, this has included advice on stepped care and youth mental health policy. To learn more about the Council, visit their website.
Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) — If you have a child or if you are a youth experiencing emotional, behavioural, mental health or addiction issues, help is available.
Integrated Service Delivery is offered to children and youth up to age 18 inclusively (and up to 21 for those within the public school system) who have multiple needs as defined by core areas of development, including physical health and wellness, emotional and behavioural functioning, family relationships, educational development and mental health.
This way of working together has allowed government departments, schools, community agencies and service providers to collaborate in order to provide the best services possible to children and youth.
