Overview
The New Brunswick Prescription Drug Program (NBPDP) rural pharmacy incentive will pay an additional $2 dispensing fee for each of the first 10,000 NBPDP prescriptions filled per fiscal year to qualifying pharmacies. Qualifying pharmacies will be identified by NBPDP.
The rural incentive amount will be calculated quarterly by the NBPDP and paid to qualifying pharmacies through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) following each quarter. No additional information is required from pharmacies.
Qualifying pharmacies will no longer be eligible for the rural incentive if a new pharmacy opens within 25 km. Any payments made under this policy once the new pharmacy opens will be recovered.
