Overview
An amusement device inspection is required on an annual basis to ensure that they meet the requirements of the Safety Code for Amusement Rides. All amusement rides must also be inspected before going into service.
Each year, an amusement device must be registered with the department and inspected before the beginning of the season for the operation of the device. The owner is required to file a schedule of set-up on the device for the season.
Learn more about how devices are assessed from the ASTM F2783-14 Standard Practice for Design, Manufacture, Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of Amusement Rides and Devices in Canada.
