Gas plan approval

Gas plans and specifications must be approved before work begins on new or altered gas installations.

Overview

Gas contractors must submit plans and specifications before starting work on new or altered gas installations for filling plants, dispensing units, and all installations with a combined input equal to or greater than five million British Thermal Units (BTUs), in accordance with Gas Inspection bulletin 84-126-12-03 — Approval of Gas Plans 84-176-12-03 (PDF 84 KB).

Eligibility

Plan approvals are required for all refrigeration plants, digester / landfill gas installations, medical gas installations, propane or natural gas filling plants, dispenser units, installations in public buildings and installations exceeding five million BTUs.
