Business Capability

An ability of an enterprise to achieve a specific purpose or outcome. Business capabilities describe what the organization does to create value for customers, without consideration of who does it or how it is carried out.

Overview

This publication represents the Government of New Brunswick Business Capabilities Reference Model with descriptions for all level 1 and level 2 capabilities.

This framework covers government’s internal operations as well as client services for individuals, businesses and other organizations. It is based on a “whole of government” perspective that defines capabilities without regard to the departments or agencies responsible for their delivery.

Business Capability Modeling (BCM) provides a structured view of the enterprise. It identifies the discrete capabilities government requires to execute its mandate and strategic objectives.
